SOLD! and Houston Bound

SOLD! 4 months, 70 showings and some tough negotiations our house is sold. We have been sitting on pins and needles for the last week and a half wondering if this terrible offer would go through. We are definitely not getting what our house is worth, but in this tough market we did the best we could. The house has been on the market for about 4 months and Michael has been commuting back and forth from Houston for about the same. It has been a rough 4 months and we are ready for it to be over and have some sense of normalcy. It seems as though a huge load has been lifted off my shoulders. The moment that I found out I just sat in my chair and I think that the boys have pretty much emptied the toy box and taken over the house again. We have still not purchased a home in Houston as we were waiting on our equity, the boys and I are going to move in with Grandpa and Grandma Denton.

Ohio State script

This video was captured at the BCS game. It is the Ohio script that the band marches. The drum major leads the band through the script and then leads a tuba player to dot the "i". (more)

OH-IO

Thanks to my Aunt Marcia and Uncle Ron, we had an opportunity to go with my parents to the BCS championship game in New Orleans. We all had the best time, even though their was a lot of bad calls from the ref''s and lost to LSU. We walked around the french quarters and also went to the Ohio State band practice. It was so much fun to watch the practice and talk to some of the band parents. I even got to stand next to one of the band directors and look at his secret binder with the formations. We had amazing seats on game day! One set was at the end zone 9 rows up and the other set was right on the 50 yard line. Thanks for this once in a life time opportunity Ron and Marcia! We had so much fun! The best part is my in-laws watched the boys! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Patton :)

"THE BIG 5"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACOB!! It seems as though I blinked and he turned 5. He had a great birthday! When he talked to Grandma Patton, she wished him happy birthday and then he in turn wished her happy birthday. I thought that was cute!. He went to pre-school and celebrated with his school mates and then Missy was able to join us at Chili's for dinner. Josh was a little confused and thought the present that he got for Jacob was actually for him, but we survived. Although, we had a slight meltdown. Jacob will be having his birthday party on Saturday at chic-fil-a. Happy birthday son. We love you and are very proud of you!

Potty Talk

Joshua is in the process of potty training. He has no desire whatsoever! I keep telling him not to let his pull up flags disappear or not to let Elmo on his underwear get wet. When you ask him if he wants them to get wet, He exclaims yeah!
This morning when I finished my shower, the boys ran into my room and were very excited to have found a potty book that I used to read Jacob when he was potty training. Jacob then informed me that "every time Joshua needs to go potty, he needs to bring the book with him." He then said that "sometimes Daddy reads a book while going potty and it works for him, so it might work for Joshua too." I just thought that was Hilarious. My, how observant kids are. Even when you don't think they are watching, they are.

Best Friends

Jacob and Joshua's friends Jenna and Jolie were able to come over to play this week. They had a lot of fun. When the girls first walked in they weren't quite sure what to do with all of the boy toys. Jacob had a fun showing them all his new toys from Christmas and the girls loved playing with the transformers (especially the one that shoots foam rockets), helicopters and trains. They told their mom when they got home that they played with boy toys. What a change from barbie houses, kitchens, and princess crowns. It is funny, when we go to the girls house, Joshua loves pushing shopping carts, wearing princess crowns, and playing bippity, bippity, boo with the wand. When we were at their house on New Years Eve Joshua played with the guitar all night that played the song "all a girl wants". The kids have been around each other since birth and hope that they are able to stay friends even after we move to Houston. Jacob and Jenna are 6 weeks apart and Joshua and Jolie are 6 months apart. As you can see there is a slight height discrepancy, but that doesn't stop them from having a blast together!
