Relaxing Weekend

The boys spent the weekend at Grandma and Grandpa Dentons. They had a great time and now I am sure G & G are exhausted. It rained all weekend so the boys spent most of the time in the mud. They had such a blast chasing lightning bugs and riding on Grandpa's new tractor. Thanks Grandma & Grandpa for a much needed R & R. Lets do it again soon : )

The Patton Boys take on the Zoo

We have season passes to the zoo, so we decided to take the boys on Saturday. It was such a beautiful weekend. We couldn't have picked a better day! When we asked Jake what animal he wanted to see the most, he said the cheetahs. As you can see below, the cheetah has had better days. Jake thought that he was winking at him, but he is a one eyed cheetah. Joshua love playing with the penguins through the glass. Seeing the gorillas is always a highlight of our zoo trip. The boys just love going to the zoo and run to each animal. Needless to say it was very exhausting trip.

Dapper Dans

I had the boys pictures taken in their Easter outfits a few weeks ago. They look so grown up! We now have hair gel in their bathroom to spike their hair. I can't believe we are already into hair products. The last picture is their Easter outfits from last year.

Little Einsteins!

The boys got new pajamas. They were so excited when they came in the mail today. They wanted to put them on right away but I made them wait until bedtime. They both got 3 each and Jake is sleeping with the other two beside him. On a side note, I started back at work yesterday! I am only going to work one a day a week for a couple of months, but it was a lot of fun having intellectual conversations and actually using my mind instead of singing Noggin songs all day. I did miss the boys and love that I am able to stay home with them.

Forever Trip for Forever Stamps

Today I had to go to the post office to buy stamps and $.02 stamps because I failed to send my letters in time. Michael came home from work last night and noticed letters on the counter that I have been meaning to mail for about a week now. They were stamped and ready to go and he could not believe that I did not get them in the mail Saturday because stamps went up to $.41 beginning today. So I sadly made my journey to the post office this morning. I don't know about anybody else, but our post office is always busy and painly slow, and I always have the Josh factor that I put on every shopping trip. Anyway the line was long as usual and Josh was spirited as usual. Two time outs later we finally made to the counter. whooo! My letters are OFF! I also purchased a book of forever stamps. Just try to raise the price on me now Mr. Postman!

Joshua Blowing out the candle

Joshua nearly burned his nose while trying to blow out his birthday candle. I think he is blowing upward out of his mouth and therefore he has to lean his head down to blow out the candle. He is a wild and crazy guy.

Ladybug, Ladybug, Fly away home

Jake's new found love is ladybugs and rolie polies. He found a ladybug today and brought it into the house and played for a good 30 minutes letting it crawl up and down his arm. When he started crying and I asked what was wrong. He lost the ladybug. Now I am crying because I know that it is now in my house somewhere. After I thought about it, I guess it could have been a worm or snake. I am thinking ladybugs are good. Also makes me wonder what Josh will be bringing into the house.

Sorry Jake!

So it's official! Jake has inherited moms botched cliche gene. Jake, mommy is so sorry! Daddy was mowing the lawn today and Jake said "Cool lawn mower. It's so cool I can hardly touch it." He is pretty funny! Then he said "that is one cool dude out there. Dad is a dude so he is cool." I just love motherhood! It is so much fun to watch the boys grow! If you get a chance click on the link to the right that says "A Look Back" Michael has started a blog site posting pictures of the boys starting when they were born. It is so much fun to look at the pictures. It is hard for me to remember them as babies.

Feliz Cinco De Mayo

We were invited to my friend Melissa's neighborhood Cinco De Mayo party tonight. The boys had so much fun running around and riding bikes with their friends Jenna and Jolie. They had a piƱata for the kids and Jacob and Joshua gave it a good whack, but no luck breaking it. Thanks Melissa for inviting us!

Can you tell what Josh's new nervous habit is? They even told us about it in the church nursery, so we are working on keeping his hands out of his pants. Any suggestions??

Joshua and Jessie fought over who got to ride with Jake. Joshua won, so Jessie decided to hop on his lap. Joshua was not to happy about it, but let him ride anyway. Watch out for the traffic Jake!

Award Ceremony

Jake received his Bear award in his Cubbies class at church tonight. His class was brought up on stage and congratulated for completing their first year in Awanas. When they arrived on stage, Jake and his buddy Kenny both spotted their respective Dad's and this was the picture I took as they recognized us.
While it may look as though Jake is mad or upset, he was simply pointing to me and waving. I think they were posing for a rap album cover or something.
