Wiggles Play Center

Jacob's preschool class gets together outside of school once a month. This month they went to the Wiggles play center. They really had a good time and Joshua was of course at the front dancing with Wags the dog. Leave it to Josh to be the class clown. He then decide to go and get a box and dance inside the box.

Baking Cookies

Grandma Kaykay and I get together and bake cookies every year. The boys favorite was cutting out the sugar cookies. Josh only licked the cookie cutter with a "mmmmm good" a few times (not to worry, we threw those cookies out). Oh wait, he also licked a couple of M&M's off the top of a couple of cookies, but those were declared his too. Needless to say the boys had a major cookie high by the end of the day. Especially when Grandpa Larry and Josh got together to frost the sugar cookies. I think Grandpa let Josh eat more than they frosted. :) Josh's philosphy is frost one, eat two.

Bad or Good??

When Michael came home for the weekend, we went to visit Santa. Jacob and Joshua have been studying all of the toy magazines and managed to come up with a few things that they wanted to talk to Santa about. I'm not kidding about studying the toy magazine. After we put Jacob to bed at night we will go in to check on him and he is carefully reviewing every toy in the catalog in the dark. We have even caught him in the closet after bedtime reclining in a chair with the door closed looking through catalogs. I sure hope that Santa is thorough when he visits the Pattons this year because our list changes daily.
The boys have the song "Santa Claus is coming to town" memorized and we have even had to make a couple of phone calls to Santa about bad behavior (Joshua). I am pretty sure that Santa is going to be very good to him, but you never know what can happen with three days left til' the big day. Joshua tells EVERYONE "Santa's watching me"

For those of you who may need help reading Jacob's handwriting, I will interpret:

Dear Santa,

I've been good: Bumblebee, Star Scream, Dinosaur eats cars and spits out.

From,

Jacob

So Busy

I am so behind!! We have been so busy this season. We have almost 50 showings on our house and two really low offers, but unfortunately still have not sold our house. Michael has been working 12 days in row in Houston so that he can have two whole days off in a row to come home. We can't wait for Daddy to come home for Christmas!! Anyway I will try my best to catch up. We are looking forward to the new years so we can really focus on moving.

Sam Houston

This statue is in the parking lot of a steakhouse that is next door to where I currently stay in Houston. A little background history; Sam Houston was an incredible figure in the history of Texas. He was President of the Republic of Texas(two separate times), Senator of the state of Texas, and also the Governor of the state. He is also the only person to ever be Governor of two different states (Texas & Tennessee). This statue is a smaller replica of the largest statue(67 ft.) of any American figure and is located in Huntsville, TX, where Houston retired and eventually died in 1863.

Houston visit

Mom & the boys came down to Houston to visit me recently. They went to the Houston zoo during the day....
And they jumped on the bed like monkeys at night.

More vacation

Our final destination was to Ohio. As soon as we arrived the boys & Great Grandpa were out in the backyard riding around.
Jacob loves looking at Uncle Ron's tractors.
Great Grandpa, Aunt Marcia, and Uncle Ron accompanied us to the Columbus Zoo. I lucked out and got to ride the boat with the boys again.
The boys always like watching the tigers & lions. The lion put on a show while we were there. He was roaring and making quite a fuss.
After the zoo, we headed down to Circleville for the Pumpkin Show with Aunt Sandy & Uncle Nelson. The boys went with Aunt Sandy to several rides.

This mural was painted last year for the 100th anniversary. Jake & Josh are there at the bottom.

These were the winners for the largest pumpkins

Vacation continued

We then traveled from western Michigan across to Detroit, Michigan to visit Great Aunt Marie. While we only were able to spend a few hours visiting, the boys enjoyed her stories of when Mike was a boy their age.

Vacation Part 3

Our second leg of the trip was going to Michigan to see more cousins, Bob, Dianna, Greg, & Brad.
We teased the boys by taking them down to Lake Michigan but it was too cold & wet to play. From left to right: Josh, Greg, & Jake.

Greg, Jake, Brad, & Josh did have a blast riding and running around in the driveway despite the rain.

Vacation Part 2

Here are some more photos from our most recent vacation through Indiana, Michigan, & Ohio. We went to the Childrens Museum in Indianapolis with cousins Doug, Lori, Caelyn, & Elise.
In this picture, Caelyn and Jacob are dressed as dinosaurs and playing with the eggs. The kids had an incredible time playing in all of the exhibits including the trains, dinosaurs, & robots!

Vacation

Sorry for the lack of posts, we have so much going on right now it is difficult to find time time to get everything in. A few weeks ago we took a vacation to Indiana, Michigan, & Ohio to visit numerous relatives. We will post more pictures and details soon but I really liked this picture and wanted to go ahead and post it. Jacob is hunting for buckeyes at his Great Grandpa Jarvis' house in Ohio.

Power Rangers to the Rescue!

The boys picked their Halloween costumes today. Jake chose to be a black power ranger and Josh chose spiderman. Wait....Jake picked power ranger so Josh decided to be a gray power ranger. We got home with spiderman but he decided quickly that he wanted to be like big brother, so we marched back to the store for an exchange. The boys are very excited for Halloween and Jake is even asking to sleep in his costume and Josh already broke his belt.

Busy Times

I began commuting from Dallas to Houston for the past 2 weeks. I typically go to Houston on Tuesdays and come back on Friday. The house finally went up on the market on Wednesday and we had our first person come look at the house this morning. This is the busiest we have ever been. Throw in soccer games, Awanna's, practice, and preschool, I don't remember the last time we had a good nights sleep.
This picture is of Jacob & Joshua at the zoo with Mom on Wednesday.

Josh inspected several insects before I caught this on video at Jake's pre-school today.

1st day at pre-school

Jake had his first day at pre-school. We were all very excited for him. Joshua was a little upset at first being a part from Jake, but by the time we got home he quickly found that he ruled the roost for a few hours and enjoyed his day.

Josh's confusing day

Josh skipped his nap and was extremely tired about 3pm the other day. Funny thing was that at the time he had on a muscle shirt, a pull up, and nice shoes. I guess I should stop letting him dress himself. Also, it is just a coincidence that the game Mr. Mouth is sitting next to Josh although I'm sure some will think we planted it there for the picture.

It's Official! We are moving.

I got a job promotion offer to move to Houston last week and we decided to take the offer. I will be starting in September, so we will begin to look for a home soon. It looks as though we will be looking to live around the Spring area. The move will take us about 3 1/2 hours south and this will be the first time we have ever sold a house. Should be an exciting few months.

Wuzzy the moth

I woke up this morning to Brent rolling the butterly pavilion all over the floor. I thought it was wierd since he has paid no attention to it thus far. When I picked the pavilion up, what did I see but Wuzzy transformed into a moth. fluttering all over. Jake was very excited and amazed. I am sorry to say that Fuzzy didn't survive. I told Jake that he escaped into the backyard. We will be letting Wuzzy go free tomorrow.

Trip to Shreveport

We headed to Shreveport this weekend to visit the Barrs. We had a really great time and it was really nice to get away for a few days. The boys had so much fun running up and down the stairs. We went to the park near their house in the morning and by 9:00 it was really hot and steamy. Saturday afternoon John treated us to the Sci-Port Discovery Center. The boys had so much fun, despite Joshy being a little grouchy with no nap. They had a display called "pump yourself up" that the boys really enjoyed. It was a seat that you sit in and when you push a button it lifts you up. Josh ran to this the entire trip and you would think that everytime he got to ride, it was for the first time. I think Jacob's favorite would be the presentation about planets. His favorite planet is Jupiter. Thanks John for allowing us to come and stay with you! Highlights of the trip would be walking Sport, watching a train go by up close, "Pump yourself up" at Sci-port, reaching 100,000 miles on our explorer, playing Rumikube with John and Beverly and losing all three times. I will post more pictures on our MSN site.
