Josh's confusing day

Josh skipped his nap and was extremely tired about 3pm the other day. Funny thing was that at the time he had on a muscle shirt, a pull up, and nice shoes. I guess I should stop letting him dress himself. Also, it is just a coincidence that the game Mr. Mouth is sitting next to Josh although I'm sure some will think we planted it there for the picture.

It's Official! We are moving.

I got a job promotion offer to move to Houston last week and we decided to take the offer. I will be starting in September, so we will begin to look for a home soon. It looks as though we will be looking to live around the Spring area. The move will take us about 3 1/2 hours south and this will be the first time we have ever sold a house. Should be an exciting few months.

Wuzzy the moth

I woke up this morning to Brent rolling the butterly pavilion all over the floor. I thought it was wierd since he has paid no attention to it thus far. When I picked the pavilion up, what did I see but Wuzzy transformed into a moth. fluttering all over. Jake was very excited and amazed. I am sorry to say that Fuzzy didn't survive. I told Jake that he escaped into the backyard. We will be letting Wuzzy go free tomorrow.

Trip to Shreveport

We headed to Shreveport this weekend to visit the Barrs. We had a really great time and it was really nice to get away for a few days. The boys had so much fun running up and down the stairs. We went to the park near their house in the morning and by 9:00 it was really hot and steamy. Saturday afternoon John treated us to the Sci-Port Discovery Center. The boys had so much fun, despite Joshy being a little grouchy with no nap. They had a display called "pump yourself up" that the boys really enjoyed. It was a seat that you sit in and when you push a button it lifts you up. Josh ran to this the entire trip and you would think that everytime he got to ride, it was for the first time. I think Jacob's favorite would be the presentation about planets. His favorite planet is Jupiter. Thanks John for allowing us to come and stay with you! Highlights of the trip would be walking Sport, watching a train go by up close, "Pump yourself up" at Sci-port, reaching 100,000 miles on our explorer, playing Rumikube with John and Beverly and losing all three times. I will post more pictures on our MSN site.

Caterpillars Day 4

Turns out that Wuzzy was within a couple of days of making a chrysallis. Jake has been talking about caterpillars and chrysallis' for about a year now, so this is a pretty neat experience for him to actually see it happening. Between day 2 and Day 3 he shrunk significantly and became very plump. Yesterday I thought that he did not survive at the Pattons, because he didn't move and never attached himself to a branch as they say they usually climb to the top of a branch and hang upside down. Today when we woke up he has made half of his Chrysallis. Jake thinks this is the coolest thing ever! Fuzzy however is still doing fine and devouring leaves. He too, is getting more plump and shrinking and think he will be ready for his amazing transformation.

Jake and Josh's first Science experiment

Jake has developed a love for animals and insects. After noticing his love for butterflies and ladybugs, we decided to buy a butterfly pavilion and ladybug farm. I wanted Jake and Josh to see and learn the life cycle of ladybugs and butterflies. We decided to watch the ladybugs first and mailed our coupon. Sadly, we received a letter in the mail stating that it was too hot right now and will have to wait until it gets cooler (which seems like forever in Texas).
In the meantime, while helping my parents at Uncle Timmy's house on Sunday we came across a cute little caterpillar, in which we have named Fuzzy. Jake and Josh quickly became attached to Fuzzy. I told them if they kept him throughout the day they could take Fuzzy home and put him in our butterfly pavilion.
Josh was upset because Jake became very possessive of Fuzzy and wouldn't let Josh hold him. Grandpa, Grandma and I told Josh we would keep our eyes peeled for another one. Later in the day I found another one in which we have named Wuzzy because he is not so Fuzzy.

Fuzzy- Day 1

Wuzzy- Day 1

Well, Fuzzy and Wuzzy made it home to the butterfly pavilion. After the boys went to bed I researched to see what type of butterflies they will be and what they need to eat. After much research I found that Fuzzy is a Luagher moth and is going to amount to a Owlet Moth. Oh well, the boys don't know the difference and it will still be fun to watch the life cycle. I am not sure about Wuzzy yet.
I was not sure Fuzzy and Wuzzy would make it through the night especially after Josh pounded the pavilion and rolled it around on the ground, but they survived. As you can see, Fuzzy had quite an appetite overnight! We will keep you updated on this amazing transformation from caterpillar to beautiful Moth.

Day 2

The boys will only hold Fuzzy. (Wuzzy doesn't look like much fun to hold)

Honesty

Earlier today Josh was crying in the game room and we asked Jacob why Josh was crying. Jacob answered, "Because I hit him in the head with the Doodle Pad." No excuses or apologies, just matter of factly stating the answer to our question. Turns out Josh was inside the toy box and Jacob was pulling a toy out and hit Josh in the head.

You Make the Call

Joshy found the stack Harry Potter books at Barnes and Noble this week when Gma and Gpa Patton took the boys to story time.

The question is: what will he do to the stack of books?

Surprisingly Josh chose to walk away gracefully!

Fun Times at the Dentons

We spent time at Grandma KayKay and Grandpa Warry's last week. Joshua loved the tactor. Grandpa let them drive, Jake was very serious and cautious on the tractor while Joshy tore it up full speed ahead and attempting his first donut. Poor Grandpa would take Josh out for a while and then park the tractor. A little while later Josh would point to the barn and drag Granpa there. Next thing you know out of the barn doors came Josh and Grandpa on the tractor again. This went on pretty much all day. Thanks Grandpa! They love playing on their 1 acre lot!
