This spring break will be remembered for the amount of rain we received in Shreveport and Houston, but despite all of the rain we had a good time camping and visiting family and friends.
We started off camping in Shreveport, LA at the KOA spot number 31. We were able to visit with John, Beverly, Aaron, Hollie, and Jordan on Sunday at the Barr house. On Monday, we went to see a childhood friend of Jill's and bridesmaid at our wedding Tara who now lives in Bossier City, LA. Tuesday we headed on to Magnolia, TX which is north of Houston.
We stayed at Magnolia Forest RV park at location #32. This is a fairly new RV park and it is one of the nicest ones we have ever seen. On Tuesday we went over to friends house to see Jami, Jedd, Aiden, & Ashton. Tuesday night and Wednesday Houston experienced record rains and flooding. While trying to drive what should have been a 30 minute drive, we found 4 closed roads due to flooding and it took us 1.5 hours to reach our destination. At the CVS minute clinic Josh was diagnosed with strep throat but we still ate lunch at Gringos. He then slept the rest of the day. Thursday we saw Lily, Chris, Anthony, Kyle, Christie, Starling, Blake, & Spencer. Then we went to play Bingo, no winners here. Friday we went back to the same friends houses and just hung out as Josh spent the night at his friend Jacob's and Jake spent the night at Aiden's. We planned to go to the Houston Rodeo but the weather and strep derailed those plans. We arrived home Saturday afternoon just in time to get ready for the Guinness World Record event "Largest Toy Piston Battle" ever. We set the record with 2,289 official participants.
